Renew U.S. Adult Passports By Mail: The U.S. Embassy Abu Dhabi and U.S. Consulate General Dubai have launched a passport renewal service for eligible adults through Emirates Post. Visit our website for details on eligibility and requirements. If eligible, applicants can contact Emirates Post at 600599999 or visit their website to arrange for the shipment of the passport, documents, and a postage-paid return envelope that will be used to return the passport to you. We urge all eligible applicants to take advantage of the new mail-in renewal service.

Eligibility for Passport Renewal by Mail: You are eligible to renew your passport by mail if ALL of the following requirements apply:

  • Your passport is not damaged and was issued within the last 15 years
  • You were at least 16 years old when your most recent passport was issued
  • The passport you are renewing was valid for a 10-year period and
  • The passport was issued in your current name. (If you have changed your name since your most recent passport was issued, you must submit legal documentation of your name change)

Personal Appearance Required for Non-Eligible Applicants: If you are not eligible to renew your passport by mail, your application may require your personal appearance.  Please visit our website for more information.

Emergency Travel: U.S. citizens with immediate travel plans (within two weeks) or other emergencies should contact their nearest consular office in Abu Dhabi (AbuDhabiACS@state.gov) or Dubai (DubaiACS@state.gov) to request an emergency appointment.

-Confirm the validity of your travel documents, including passports and visas.

-Visit our  Embassy webpage on COVID-19 for information on conditions in the UAE.

-Visit the  Department of Homeland Security’s website   on the latest travel restrictions to the U.S.

-Check with your airlines regarding information about your travel plans or restrictions.
