Resumption of Limited Routine Appointments:  The U.S. Embassy in Abu Dhabi and U.S. Consulate General in Dubai are now offering limited appointments for some routine services including minor passport renewal, Consular Reports of Birth Abroad (CRBAs), and first-time adult passport applications. To schedule an appointment, please use the online appointment system for U.S. Embassy Abu Dhabi or U.S. Consulate General Dubai.

Routine notary services remain suspended. If you are an American citizen in need of an emergency service, please send an email to AbuDhabiACS@state.gov (Abu Dhabi and Al Ain) or DubaiACS@state.gov (for Dubai and other emirates).

Appointments No Longer Necessary for Ballot Drop-Off:

Appointments are no longer needed to drop off absentee ballots for the 2020 U.S. Election. The U.S. Embassy in Abu Dhabi accepts absentee ballots Monday through Thursday from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm.  The U.S. Consulate General accepts absentee ballots Sunday through Thursday from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm. New Service—Renew U.S. Adult Passports from Home:

The U.S. Embassy and U.S. Consulate General are accepting passport renewal applications for eligible adults through Emirates Post. We urge all eligible applicants to take advantage of the new mail-in service. Detailed information can be found here.

-Confirm the validity of your travel documents, including passports and visas.

-Visit our  Embassy webpage on COVID-19 for information on conditions in the UAE.

-Visit the  Department of Homeland Security’s website   on the latest travel restrictions to the U.S.

-Check with your airlines regarding information about your travel plans or restrictions.
