U.S. Citizen Alert: U.S. Embassy Abu Dhabi and U.S. Consulate General Dubai
June 16, 2020

Alerts are released on Mondays. Any urgent updates may be released in addition to regularly scheduled Alerts.

National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) steps up effort to bring back UAE residents:  NCEMA announced UAE residents with valid visas who have been staying outside the UAE due to COVID-19 must first request approval to return at smartservices.ica.gov.ae before booking flight tickets to return to the country.

The U.S. Embassy in Abu Dhabi and U.S. Consulate General in Dubai will publicize any announcement on the resumption of student visa interviews once information is available: The Embassy, Consulate, Secretary Pompeo, and our entire State Department team are taking this issue seriously and are seeking ways to ensure that U.S.-destined aspiring and returning students will receive priority attention once routine visa operations can resume. Please follow the Embassy/Consulate website and social media channels for the latest information.

All consular services for American citizens and visa applicants at the U.S. Embassy and Consulate continue to operate at reduced capacity: We will announce when we can provide additional consular services, but are unable to give a specific date at this time. Please see  this link for the latest information on American Citizen  Services  and Immigrant and Non-Immigrant Visa operations during the COVID-19 pandemic.
